When we visited a pagan church, Olof described the process of reanimating the dead and ghosts in Icelandic mythology and history. She explained that ghosts aren’t like how we traditionally see them in Hollywood, where they’re made of plasma-like material like in Ghostbusters. They’re more solid-like, and the steps to raise the dead will allow you to have a personal ghost to complete tasks for you.
To start this process, go to your local library and acquire ancient runic stones. After writing the “Our Father” prayer in Latin on parchment paper in blood from your left elbow. Then, you must go to a graveyard, pick a grave, and begin reciting the prayer while rolling the written prayer on the grave. This will begin to summon the ghost, and once you have the ghost up until the waist, stop reciting and rolling to ask it questions. You want to make sure the ghost isn’t too strong and is pretty small for later reasons. You will ask the ghost two questions: what age were you when you died, and what was your job? These will indicate if the ghost is a good ghost to be your taskmaster, and if you don’t like the ghost, ask a third question, which will send the ghost back into the ground because the ghost is scared of the trinity (groups of 3).
Once you fully raise the ghost, if you like it, you will now reanimate the ghost. Since it’s raised from the dead, it will have some froth on its mouth. To reanimate it, prick your right pinky toe and place blood in its mouth, and then you must take some of the froth and eat it. This will link the ghost to you, and the last step is to beat the ghost in Icelandic wrestling. If successful, the ghost will be your personal servant and run errands for you. If you lose, the ghost will drag you down to eternal damnation, and you’ll be stuck there forever. This is why ensuring the ghost is someone you can beat is important, and the power of the ghost doubles if it’s a child. Once you win, the ghost will be your servant and do whatever you tell it to do. The ghost will stay in your family for 9 generations before disappearing, and you must then repeat the process to acquire another ghost.
