After a week of exploring Iceland’s incredible landscapes and learning about sustainable engineering, our final day was about unwinding and enjoying the city. With so many amazing experiences behind us, we wanted to take in one last piece of Iceland’s natural beauty while also immersing ourselves in Reykjavik’s culture. The perfect way to do that was by visiting Sky Lagoon, a geothermal spa that felt like a much-needed reward after our busy schedule. Once I got there and entered the pool, the experience was breathtaking. The lagoon’s warmth was soothing, and the view of the ocean was simply majestic. The highlight of the visit was the seven-step spa ritual, which took the experience to another level. I started in the warm lagoon before moving to the cold plunge, where I may or may not have only dipped my feet in (I was absolutely freezing but it was worth the small dip). From there, I entered the sauna, which surprised me. Normally, I find saunas stifling, but this one was incredibly relaxing, and the view from inside made it even better. It even had a scent of essential oils. The next step was the mist room, where a fine rain cooled me down before I moved on to the body scrub, which left my skin feeling amazing. After that came the steam room, which was much more enjoyable than I expected, and finally, I finished with a shot of crowberry juice. It was delicious and I honestly wanted more. Before heading out, I took one last dip in the warm lagoon, enjoying the peaceful moment.  After returning to the hotel, I headed to Reykjavik’s city center for some shopping. The colorful streets, cozy boutiques, and local shops made for the perfect way to spend the afternoon. I wandered through stores filled with Icelandic souvenirs, hoping to find something for my family. Later that evening, we all gathered for our farewell dinner, which was not only delicious but also a chance to reflect on everything we had experienced. As the night went on, some of us took the opportunity to explore Reykjavik’s nightlife, soaking in the city’s energy one last time. This trip has been absolutely unforgettable, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end it. The combination of nature, culture, and learning has made Iceland one of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited. Takk, Ísland!
