On our penultimate day here in Iceand, we all got some time to explore Reykjavik on our own. One of my favorite sights to see was the Braud & co bakery. Inside, it was very small, but they had many different types of breads and desserts. One dessert they had was the raspbury croissant. They also had a Happy Marriage cake. However, the reason I liked this bakery so much more than any other stop was because the outside of the building was entire painted for artistic purposes. A mural covered the entire front of the bakery and even extended to the sides. I love seeing any kind of artistic abilities, especially in a city. Whether it comes as vandalism or as a sanctioned mural, cities are the place for self expression.

As for the city itself, it met my expectations pretty well. I expected it to be calmer and cleaner than Pittsburgh, and it was! I didn’t know what to expect from the other people/tourists, but its like they weren’t even there. Everyone has mastered the art of minding their own business.

As for a sight I’d recommend, I would say to any reader that you are doing yourself a disservice by not seeing the rainbow road. It has the perfect view of the cathedral0 it is simply unreal.
