Reykjavik is an awesome city to explore! I found it very easy to get about on foot. I spent most of my free day in downtown Reykjavik, in the vicinity of the Rainbow Road. I mostly went around shopping for souvenirs, visiting the plethora of gift shops; I found many Icelandic gifts for friends and family! I also took a stop at a food hall and had a very tasty burrito bowl. I was honestly surprised by the quality of my meal; it tasted very fresh and was a nice rest stop. During my time in downtown Reykjavik I also stopped into a little cafe, had some coffee, and was able to pet some cats that were sheltering inside from the cold!
Overall, I really enjoyed my free day in Reykjavik. The city is truly unique and is very different from Pittsburgh. Many of the shopkeepers were very friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcomed in their city. I found it very pleasant that I was able to walk around pretty much everywhere in the city.
