For the final day and a half of the trip, we found ourselves in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík. Before going to the airport, we stopped at my favorite spot in the city, the Perlan Natural History Museum. Some of the best parts included the Northern Lights show, the Volcano show, the Glacier Exhibit, and the glass-domed cafe/observation deck. I think my favorite was the observation deck as it is atop a hill that allows you to see across the entire city as well as the surrounding mountains and glacier. This deck also goes three-hundred sixty degrees so you can see all of the city and ocean. The final day was the clearest day of the trip, so you could see for miles and truly get to see the sights Iceland has to offer. I would personally recommend going to the museum, especially if it is also on a clear day.

I expected the people in the city to be kind but not to the degree they are. I don’t believe I ran into a single person that was even a hint of rude. Everyone was extremely helpful and had a quite witty sense of humor, which I feel is almost a requirement with some of the weather conditions they must deal with. The people alone make it a great place to visit.
