If I am honest, right now, the thing that I am most excited about is getting the chance to enjoy myself. This semester has been hard fought, and I spent several late nights at Benedum where, on my walk back to my apartment, I heard the birds start chirping because of how late I had stayed to study. That’s when you know it was a long night :/ I am really looking forward to getting the chance to take a step back, breathe, and replace my reliance on “book smarts” with “street smarts,” which will be more than necessary when adapting to the foreign world. Yes, I understand the trip into Prague might be a little stressful and tiring, but that is what music is for. Overall, I am thrilled and very grateful to have the opportunity to take this trip considering that not many people get such a chance. This will be my first time leaving the continent, and hopefully this experience will lay the mental and professional foundations for any future foreign expeditions whether that involve my career or a vacation with family. My flight is officially 12 hours from now as I write this, so I should probably get to bed or else I will be cooked.
