Today was our first day in Prague. It began full of flight delays and frustrating travel, but eventually we were able to make it to the city and start our first walking tour. The main attraction today was the Charles Bridge. It was constructed in the late fourteenth century as a way to further connect Prague and strengthen the city’s defenses. Today, the bridge (which used to be the lone way to cross the river), is full of artists, musicians, and replica statues of prominent figures.
I had multiple meaningful conversations with my friends from this trip today. They ranged anywhere from discussing the super fun effects of no sleep and jet lag to the appreciation of another country’s culture and the way things are done differently in the Czech Republic compared to the United States.
Overall today was great, saw a lot of gothic architecture, nice cars, and found good ice cream.
