My first day in Prague was incredibly eventful, beginning with a welcome tour that was both fun and full of fascinating insights. I was immediately captivated by the city’s stunning architecture, especially the Cubist buildings, most notably the House of the Black Madonna, completed in 1912. The view of the river was striking, revealing the grandeur of Prague Castle and its surrounding beauty. While the city reflects many classic European elements, it also stands out with unique features at every turn. The more you walk, the more you’re drawn in by its charm, safe atmosphere, and impeccably clean streets. One of the highlights of the day was visiting the iconic Charles Bridge, commissioned by King Charles IV to provide a vital crossing for the city’s residents. Equally impressive was the astronomical clock, a masterpiece that not only tells the time and date but also tracks the movement of celestial bodies. I also gained a deeper appreciation for Prague’s distinct districts, Old Town, New Town, and Lesser Town, each with its own rich history and character. We ended the day with a cozy dinner at a local restaurant, where we shared our passions and chatted about our plans for the summer.
