Today, we got to tour around the old town after a long travel day. We finished the day with a traditional Czech meal at a local restaurant. The highlight of the day for me was seeing the Charles Bridge again, though it wasn’t my first time seeing it, the panorama across the Vltava never ceases to amaze me.

The Charles Bridge is not only a really pretty and really old bridge, it is a symbol of the past, and serves as a reminder of how important bridges are to our daily lives. Our tour guide Jana, mentioned that in the past the Charles Bridge was one of the only ways to get across the Vltava, nowadays there are plenty more options. This bridge was a crucial part of connecting two parts big parts of Prague, although not so much anymore, it can remind us that even with such stunning beauty these creations serve a real impactful purpose on the daily lives of many. It is these sort of things we often take for granted, and only notice their importance when they go away. So, while bridges can be the centerpiece of a city like Prague, they also serve a purpose to their citizens in shaping the way that life moves around the city of Prague.
