Today was the first day that we arrived in Prague, and there was way too much to see in just one day. After arriving and getting settled in our hotel, we went for a walking tour of the city, seeing the landmarks and areas around the old town. We were also able to get a brief overview of each landmark and location we saw.
Prague is a much different city than I expected, even from learning about it before the trip. There are quite a few cool and interesting things we learned about today, as our first day in Prague. One of the first things I noticed was the architecture. It could be described as the opposite of uniform, making it look unique and fresh. The roofs are made from terracotta and cedar shakes, which look vivid and stand out. I also saw many different styles of architecture mixed, like Gothic and Cubism style buildings right next to each other. I was impressed with how many old buildings were still in great shape, and I cannot wait to explore them. My favorite part of the tour was the astronomical clock, which I knew I would like. I plan to get tickets to see the top while I am here. I am excited to see more of the city!
