Day 3 in Prague has definitely been the best one so far. We started the day with a cooking class focusing on traditional Czech meals, including Kulajda (a mushroom soup), a beef main course with sauce and dumplings, and a potato dough with jam dessert. The class was set up to have us follow the directions of 2 professional chefs who were very patient and understanding of my lack of experience. Every step to each meal was clearly shown to us and the chefs made it super easy to follow along. I noticed that a lot of Czech meals, including the ones made today in class, include heavier ingredients, like cream, potatoes, flour, and meat. All of which was very filling in relatively small amounts. Something that was surprising to me was the creativity behind the chef’s creations. For example, the dumplings made today had a base of older bread that chef considered cheap. I would never have expected the dumplings to have this bread as their main ingredient and come out tasting as good as they did.

The walking tour was a great extension of the places we initially explored the other day. I really appreciated walking over the Charles bridge and seeing the statues that I did a report on for one of the pre departure assignments. Seeing the bridge in person was something I thoroughly enjoyed and the gothic architecture will never fail to impress me.
