Today was a packed day filled a company visit, language class, and a scavenger hunt. We visited the Central Bohemian Innovation Center where entrepreneurs are funded and advised on their start up products. Some of the work that they do with product research and adaptation is very similar to what I have learned in some of my Pitt entrepreneurial engineering classes. They offer services very similar to what is available for student entrepreneurs at Pitt.

After, we attended a Czech language class at Charles University. This helped with a basic understanding of Czech phrases that we could use during our trip. We learned greetings, foods, and how to say our engineering disciplines. This could help with our interactions with locals in Prague and introducing ourselves. Being able to communicate in other languages is important because it allows you to expand your professional network globally and collaborate with others. Being able to use knowledge of global languages, history, and engineering fosters a positive work environment where engineers can gain perspectives from people across the globe.
