Today the day started with a quick trip to the Central Bohemian Innovation Center, that helps people create start ups and current ones to grow and help them succeed. What they offer is amazing since there is so much that goes into creating a business that can be difficult to mange all. Many times, a certain start up can be very good at researching an issue but may have trouble creating a product or service that helps solve that issue in a way that can be sold to others.
After we traveled back to the Charles University building for our Czech language lesson. Since I speak Polish, I found a few words very similar and was able to catch on certain parts before we were taught it but there was still a great deal of the language that is confusing. I find it interesting that today the world is very connected, and you can be talking to others or buying stuff in another country. This requires a certain way to communicate between two different speaking counties even though today many times there are online translators but before that there wasn’t. With a different language comes not just understanding the words but also the grammar and conjugations. In addition to that certain countries use other units of measurement. In the context of engineering in certain cases the units and measurements have to be precise. This could be the case when getting a contractor from a foreign country where both sides need to agree what units were used in final drawings etc.
After the lesson we were sent on a scavenger hunt across Prague, which was awesome. Having to traverse the city with a broad map was not the easiest but fun.
