Today’s agenda was touring the Kunsthalle Museum and the alumni networking event. The museum tour was very interesting because we not only got to see the current art exhibition, but we saw behind the scenes of how the building design preserves the art. Due to the art’s value and delicate nature, it is very important to maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels. As a chemical engineer, it was very interesting to see how they handled the challenges of minimizing heat transfer with the outside temperature. Engineers designing the building had to be creative to maximize the system efficiency, while keeping the appearance minimal to not affect the aesthetic of the exhibitions.
During the networking event, I was able to meet former Pitt MBA students. I used this as an opportunity to learn about Czech culture from locals. In particular, one of the attendees recommended trying a cheese schnitzel, so I can’t wait to try it!
