Today was the first day that we had a open morning and with that there we no rush to get out of bed but there were still places to visit so no sleeping in. I took the chance to visit the Waldstein Garden which was gorgeous. First you entered a small courtyard with a square pond, and there were peacocks too! You then walked through a beautiful garden into another courtyard that was relaxing to walk through.
After lunch we headed to the one planned event of the day in the Kunsthalle Museum. It used to be a transformer station and was renovated into an art museum. Due to the building being in the historic part and there being a lot of equipment with the transformers renovating it was no easy task. The art here was fascinating, the best part about seeing art exhibits is that there are so many ways to create art, one of which is using regular everyday items to display a message. One of them was a New York taxi that was filled with wild plants which could be seen as, wherever something might be, nature will eventually take over. Certain objects can be seen as trash by some and art by others. I heard many times in engineering that you could be solving issues that no one answered before and seeing something that could be helpful in something that others might think is nothing can be very beneficial. After the museum everyone slowly gathered for the alumni event. It was awesome speaking to alumni and learning how they ended up in the Czech Republic. Certain things we are learning about Czech history were events that they alive during which was cool to see it from their perspective.
