When we visited Skoda today, their manufacturing processes were incredibly streamlined. Assembling an average of 440 models a day is a lot of work, but the factory we visited has it down to a formula. Huge arm-like robots and conveyor belts move and piece together initial steps, and people come in to do checks, lining adjustments, and more. This automated assembly line has maximized efficiency, speed, and quality.
For my overall trip, my peak is every laugh and memory I get with my peers. They are genuinely all so kind, caring, fun, and overall just good company. These people have really made the place. Whether they are old friends I’m getting to know better to new faces, I know these are friendships that I want to carry on after the program ends. My low is just being so tired (going out is worth it), especially when every day starts at 7am or earlier and goes until 6-9pm because the program doesn’t allow for any free/relax time some days.
The little things I notice are the detailing in every building, really showing off the intricate care that was taken when constructing them. Also, being around others all the time, my social battery gets drained. Putting in my headphones feels so nice to just be in my own world and recharge while traveling around. I always come back feeling refreshed and ready to focus.
The best thing I have eaten was at this Persian restaurant I went to for dinner with some of the other students on the trip called Aubergine Ristorante. Every aspect of the dinner was phenomenal, it was a nice break from all the Czech food, I got to try new food, and I had good company.
