Today was an exciting day where we learned about both new innovations in energy and old chilling history. At Eaton, we were introduced to new technologies being used to power homes. I don’t have a strong background in electrical engineering, but I found it interesting hearing about how adding new design elements helps with efficiency.

We also had the opportunity to visit a preserved nuclear bunker that was used as a Cold War museum. Seeing the actual conditions that people in the Czech Republic had to endure during communism was very impactful. Preserving the space and the historical items from the time period is important so that visitors can learn from the history and prevent it from reoccurring.

During our break in the day, I took the opportunity to explore the city on my own. I walked throughout the Old Town Square and just took in the city life. Only being here two weeks, I already feel at home. I am going to miss the historical city at the end of my trip.

Later in the evening, we had a walking ghost tour through Old Town Square We learned about the more tragic side of Prague’s history. There are stories of ghosts haunting all over town for injustices that were done to them when they were alive. Hearing the specific stories made me realize how harsh the city of Prague used to be when it was infected with the Black Plague.
