Our time here is slowly coming to an end, today we had our last company visit. This was the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry that is responsible for a huge amount of research. One interesting thing I found was one of the presentations on molecular switches. Certain molecules can react to some wavelengths that activates the molecule to move from an initial to final point. With this you can try to find ways to implement more than one in a system and find certain cases where molecular switches can be beneficial.

After the company visit there was a big window with free time. I took this time to Petrin Tower which had a beautiful view of the city that was worth the long spiral staircase. If you ever see it, you will notice it looks very similar to another tower in a different country, that’s because its design was inspired by Eiffel tower. After getting some ice cream I made my way through a park and to the Strahov Monastery that had a nice gallery filled with old books and old collections, from insects, to butterflies, types of rocks, and there were even globes from different time periods. There were also two libraries that were beautiful. They were decorated with gold trims around the wooden furniture and the mural on the ceiling spanned the entire room. We ended the day with a dinner cruise along on Vltava River which was amazing.
