I have been obsessed with cars and all types of vehicles since I was a little kid. It is a big part of the reason I decided I wanted to become an engineer. Today was like a dream come true, we were able to visit the Škoda museum and get a tour of their main production facility as well as the Škoda Motorsport facility.

The Škoda brand is not available for sale in the United States so I was not too familiar with their vehicles but I have been able to keep up with their work in motorsport. Are first stop with them was touring their museum which was incredible. Again Škodas are not available in the U.S so being able to see some of their more modern cars as well as plenty of their cars that carries the brand’s history was amazing. Some of the classics they have made are truly some of the most beautiful cars I have seen in person.

After we visited the museum we had a tour of their factory. I have never seen the internals of a working car factory before. It was great to see a real assembly line in action for the first time. I was so impressed with the flow of the whole factory, everything just seemed to work smoothly. It’s amazing how people were able to design and implement different machines and systems into an easy flowing and efficient factory.

Our last stop was at the Škoda motorsport facility. I am not able to speak too much about what we saw but it was amazing to learn more about their history in rally and how their business has shifted over time.

Today was one of my favorite days so far on the trip. We are all so lucky to have been given the opportunity to visit these facilities and learn more about the automotive industry!
