After visiting and touring Eaton, we went to the Jalta Boutique hotel. It’s a very luxurious hotel in a really nice section of Prague. In what used to be a fallout shelter below the hotel, the area was converted by communists to a hideout for high ranking officers and the secret police to spy on guests. Until 1989, the secret police bugged hotel guests (prioritizing those coming from the West) from underground. It’s crucial to preserve places like this so future generations can learn from history and not become prone to repeating the ugly parts. This relates greatly to engineering fields. Good engineers can have a lot of power (such as converting a fallout shelter to a hideout to spy on hotel guests) and it’s important they use that to build things to better humanity.

After the Cold War museum we took a ghost tour of Prague and visited a few different sites around the city, such as a complex that used to be a hospital which looked to be pretty desolate today. There were some unique stories from our guide, and based on how brutal humanity was in Medieval times I’m glad to be visiting Prague in the current day. I was too busy being so invested in the tour and I didn’t get any pics so enjoy a bike I found. It’s a Suzuki GSXR.
