Yesterday, we had a more relaxed itinerary, but it was just as fulfilling! We began our day at IOCB Praha, we visited three researchers who are completing high-level biochemistry research, along with research in the field of organic chemistry. We were given information about their research in applications like cancer research, drug creation, and nanoscale machines made from molecules. Even as a mechanical engineer this was fascinating, and a great experience.

Next, we had free time until our evening dinner cruise, I chose to visit Petřin tower and the Strahov Library. These are two attractions on the lesser side of Prague, both on the hill near the castle. Petřin is a big park and has a lookout tower that resembles the Eiffel Tower, and the view from the top is breathtaking. We were able to see all of Prague and the surroundings and take in the beautiful panorama. After a short visit to the lookout tower, we walked through the rest of the park to Strahov library. The library dates back almost 1000 years and is preserved exceptionally. There are two main libraries which we were able to view, and both are decorated with statues and murals, and highlights are painted in gold. We were also able to view some books, even from the 16th century, and the craftsmanship was amazing. This library has been one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in Prague. We finished the day with a gorgeous dinner cruise on the Vltava which allowed us to see Prague from yet another angle, and to be mesmerized by its beauty.
