Today we visited the fairytale-like city of Cesky Krumlov. Almost completely surrounded by the same river that runs through Prague, the town was very compact and filled with hundreds of little shops. We were able to tour the castle on the top of the hill, where we got to see all the lavish rooms and decorations of the historical castle. My favorite part of the castle tour was seeing the live bears that live in the castle’s moat.

Since the town is a large tourist attraction, there were many people there speaking different languages. It was fun trying to identify what language someone was speaking as they passed by. This is something that does not happen very often in the areas of the United States where I live, where most people only speak English.
One thing I believe the United States could adopt from the Czech Republic would be their transportation system. Although most cities have bus systems, the Czech Republic has trams, metros, and buses that run much more often. The cities in the Czech Republic are also far more walkable than in the United States, where it is usually best to travel by car due to the spread out buildings.
