Waking up today was very hard. Our bus to the airport was scheduled at 7 am and I did not want to go. While I am tired from the busy schedule, I am going to miss the beautiful city of Prague immensely. This trip has consisted of a lot of “firsts” for me, so it has exposed me to things I have never experienced. While it is hard to process everything now, I know that my experiences here will leave a lasting impact on my character, as well as my professional perspective. I am grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in a completely new culture and therefore be able to learn new things about myself.
If I were to go back in time and give myself advice before traveling to Prague, I would say to not say no. There were many instances over the past two weeks where I was exhausted and just wanted to lie in my hotel room and nap. Thankfully, the others on this trip always wanted to explore the city and would invite me to join them after our scheduled activities. I am so thankful that I ignored my feelings of exhaustion and decided to go along with them. Not only did I experience a new side of Prague, but I also got to make friends with an incredible group of people. Spending time with the others on the group allowed me to make lifelong friends through our shared experiences. This is a special type of bond and I am so excited to be able to walk away from this trip not only being more intellectually improved, but also with friendships that I hope to continue for years to come.
