Today most of us left to go back to the United States. It was a very travel heavy day and I only had two flights, I believe most had three to get back to their hometowns. Today was more stressful than arrival day, because I had a 45 minute layover at the Copenhagen airport. More like 30 minutes actually since our plane was slightly delayed. I had to go from gate B9 to gate E one hundred forty something, a task that was not fun to do under pressure with a massive duffel bag.

I’m starting to miss this trip already and wish I could’ve spent more time in Prague. Being in a different country has broadened my perception of what it means to be an engineer the most by showing me how deeply connected engineering is to society/culture. In the Czech republic specifically, engineering is not just about efficiency or problem solving, but also heavily integrated with preserving heritage and adopting designs to the unique character of a place. It made me think more critically about what the potential long term impact of any future projects I’m working on could be, especially in the realm of civil engineering and construction.
