Today was the first day of my spring break trip to Iceland, and due to an unfortunate delay the day got started off later than planned. This caused a change in the schedule, with the group getting out of the airport at 11:45 and arriving at the Perlan Museum at 12:30. We had a nice lunch there, where I got their excellent lamb soup. After that we saw their show on the northern lights in their planetarium, which was a very pretty experience.
After this, we got to see their lava show, which utilized moving video on a large screen array to immerse you in a tour of the hot underground. After that was the Ice room, an awesome, winding structure made entirely out of ice.
After the Perlan the group headed to get some rest, before then having a great dinner of lamb steaks, with a very nice apple cake as dessert. Overall, it was a nice first day in, and the Perlan was a great experience overall.
