On March 7 2026 we arrived in Iceland after a long debacle with our connecting flights. this turned our supposedly 10 hour journey into a 24 hour affair. After landing and collecting our luggage we met Ólöf, our tour guide for the trip, and subsequently journeyed to the Perlan museum because of our unintended delays
Once arriving at the museum we got some lunch, and proceeded to walk around the museum learning about Iceland’s geological makeup. Iceland is sat between two tectonic plates which are spreading apart causing all of the geothermal activity here. This includes earthquakes and volcanoes. We then, watched a short film about the Northern Lights, and a famous volcano eruption in 2021. Finally, we explored a manmade glacier cave inside the museum!

Finally, we headed to the hotel where we had a traditional Icelandic meal that consisted of roast lamb with potatoes and other vegetables, and apple cake which is similar to our apple pie but crusted with nuts.
