We had quite the day 3 here in Iceland! It was our first full day here in Hveragerði region and we had a ball of a time.
Our first event was trying some authentic Icelandic dishes, including fermented shark, sheep head, and sheep intestines. After a valiant fight against some stomach issues, I managed to return from war and try each of the dishes. They were certainly better than I expected!
Our next stop was the Friðheimar tomato greenhouse where they run the tightest of operations. As someone in desperate need of a job, I wondered if they could utilize the talents of a fellow Industrial Engineer like myself, until we went further and further through our tour. I realized they have thought of literally everything. Nonetheless, it was a pleasure seeing how they operate, and the tomato soup and bread we snacked on at the end was delightful.
We soon after made our way to the Gullfoss Waterfall, where we fought against some torrential winds to snap some photos. Despite the wind, this was far and away the best sights we have seen yet, and I believe I got some sweet ones on my film camera.

To wrap up our trip for the day, we stopped at Geysir, a spot with various active geysers that go off about every 10 minutes. We climbed way up to the top of a mountain nearby to get the full view of the biggest one they had. After waiting for about 8 minutes with my film camera out and freezing the left side of my face off, my patience led to what I hope will turn out to be a great photo. Even the views behind us were beautiful!

That is all for Day 3! I will be taking over the Pitt SSOE Global Instagram account tomorrow for Day 4 (or maybe Day 5, I’m not actually sure yet)!
