To start day 3 in Iceland, we first ate breakfast at the hotel. But we had an interesting breakfast to say the least! Our tour guide, Ólöf showed us some authentic Iceland food to try, which included fermented shark, gelatin sheep, dried fish, and other interesting foods. It was very entertaining to watch everyone try the fermented shark!

We then went to Fridheimar farm which grows tomato’s in greenhouses. I enjoyed learning how the greenhouse works and a lot about growing tomato’s. It’s amazing how Iceland adapted to their climate to be able to grow produce. We got to have their famous tomato soup and bread which was so good!

Next stop was to see the Gullfoss waterfall. The view was amazing. One thing I wasn’t expecting was the wind up there. I’ve truly never experienced wind that can almost push you over! We then took a short ride to Geysir. I unknowingly stood a little too close  to the geyser and got a little drenched when it went off. I then hiked up a nearby mountain for some awesome views! Again, the wind was insane at the top, but totally worth it.

When we arrived back to the hotel I finally got the famous Icelandic hot dogs from the nearby gas station. They are worth the hype!

I had so much fun today and am looking forward to the next couple of days.
