Todays trip started with a quick breakfast, before being to head east across the southern coast. The first stop along the way was Seljalandfoss. The waterfall was quite beautiful, but my favorite part of it was when you continued down the path, which led to a hidden waterfall in a small grotto.

After visiting Seljalandfoss, we traveled to another waterfall, Skogafoss, which had a beautiful rainbow visible when we arrived. After climbing the rather shaky stairs to the top viewing platform, I was able to head back and see some of the feeding falls, which were also quite pretty. The views from the top of the cliff was gorgeous, and made the climb up worth it.

After seeing Skogafoss proper, we visited the museum next door. It was quite interesting, with some neat and rather odd bits of history. The most interesting was the boat, the 2 headed sheep and the turf houses. There was also a technical center, showcasing just how fast Iceland went from dirt poor to quite wealthy due to WWII.

Once done with the museum, we went to see Solheimajokull. It was beautiful, and knowing that the parking lot was where the glacier was when it was built really puts into perspective just how quickly the landscape can change in Iceland.

After Solheimajokull, we made a quick stop at Vik to get some snacks and see the black sand beach. After the pitstop, we went to our hotel, where we got Artic char and a very good brownie for desert. It was an amazing day, and I am looking forward to what tomorrow will bring.
