Day 7 had less planned than any of the other days so far. Day 7 started with us going to Reykjavik University to take a look at their School of Energy. While there we got to see how the building was designed and how the builders were able to be more creative in the designing of the University. We learned that the center hub was called the sun and the extending hallways were each named after planets. We then went to explore the university’s different labs. While there they showed us different club and class projects. After they had some graduate students come and explain their grad projects. Most of their projects had to do with the development of geothermal energy and seismic mapping. After our visit to Reykjavik University, we were driven downtown and were allowed to walk around. I visited some souvenir shops and the center church, but unfortunately the church was closed due to the death day of a prime minister. I then headed back to our hotel and got ready for our farewell dinner. We headed to a grand hotel down the street and got our meals. Our final dinner was a cod dish with potatoes, tomatoes, and some greens. For dessert we had a cheesecake type dish which was delicious.
