It’s hard to believe that I’ll be flying to Europe to explore the Czech Republic over the next two weeks. I’m excited to visit Prague and see its beautiful architecture. There’s the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, the Astronomical Clock, St. Vitus Cathedral, museums, and so many other stops. I’ve never been to Europe before, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the culture and architecture compare to those in the U.S.

Since this is an engineering-focused trip, I’m excited to learn how Europeans approach infrastructure challenges. A visit to the Podolí Waterworks would be interesting, as it directly connects to environmental engineering. After this trip, I hope that I look at engineering challenges from a different angle and can offer a different point of view. Additionally, I want to grow as a person and learn new things about Europe, humanity, and myself.

We are going to several museums on this trip such as the silver mine museum. I also know that we will spend a day going to Terezin which was where the Nazis created a Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. It is going to be a very heavy day, but important to see.

The itinerary includes a mix of cultural and educational events, which I’m really looking forward to. I’m excited to see as much as I can—and take lots of pictures!
