Swanson School of Engineering

Florence is a beautiful and vibrant city. As I prepare to depart for this study abroad trip, there are various things I am particularly excited about. The first thing is the cultural differences. I am curious to observe how Italians live their daily life, so I can implement any positive habits they have into my own life. Also, I am thrilled to be able to learn about engineering practices done in the Renaissance period. It fascinates me to see how engineering ideas have evolved over time or stayed the same, especially with sustainable engineering practices. I feel it is important when solving sustainable problems we have now to always look at the past for inspiration of what was done before. Finally, I am excited to be able to eat authentic gelato!
