To prepare for my trip to Brazil, I focused on learning Portuguese so I could communicate more effectively and feel more comfortable in a new environment. I started by practicing basic phrases such as greetings, introductions, and common questions that I might need in everyday situations. I used language learning apps, and friends that are fluent, to help me understand how the language sounds and to improve my speaking skills. I also practiced listening to spoken Portuguese through short conversations so I could become more familiar with the rhythm and speed of the language. In addition, I tried to memorize important vocabulary, including words related to directions, food, and transportation. Even though I am still a beginner, taking the time to learn Portuguese has made me feel more confident about interacting with locals and navigating daily situations. It also shows respect for the culture and the people, which I believe is an important part of traveling to a different country. Overall, focusing on Portuguese has helped me feel more prepared and excited for my experience in Brazil.
