Hi, my name is Valencio! I am a junior Industrial Engineering major here at Pitt. What excites me most about studying abroad in Florence is the opportunity to experience a completely different culture and way of life while continuing my engineering education. I’m looking forward to exploring a new environment, meeting people from different backgrounds, and stepping outside of my normal routine. I think being immersed in another country will help me become more adaptable, independent, and open-minded.
I’m also excited to see how engineering, infrastructure, and everyday systems differ from what I’m used to in the United States.
While international travel can feel a little intimidating, I think that challenge is part of what makes the experience valuable. Overall, I hope this experience helps me grow both personally and professionally while creating memories that I’ll carry long after the program ends.
