Swanson School of Engineering

With my bags 98% packed, I’m starting to feel the anticipation growing within me for this trip to Prague. I look forward to making new connections, learning about a culture that is different than my own, and building valuable skills for my future. Through this trip, I hope to gain a better sense of what it means to work as an engineer in the global sense, and how different communities around the world solve problems in their own unique ways. My biggest goal is to develop skills in communication, networking, and cross-cultural collaboration, which I can use as a talking point during internship interviews in the future. When it comes to the city itself, I am most curious about how easy or confusing the public transportation will be in Prague, especially since we’ll be using it a lot over the next two weeks. I generally have a pretty good sense of direction, but I have very little experience with using public transportation, so it’ll definitely be something I’ll have to get used to.
