Swanson School of Engineering

As I prepare to travel to the Czech Republic, what excites me most is to have the opportunity to immerse myself in a new foreign culture and explore it through the cuisine. As a foodie, I believe that food is one of the most authentic ways to understand a place and its people. I have travelled internationally before (last year doing the Engineering Renaissance in Florence program), so being able to compare the engineering, architecture, art, and food to that of Prague also excites me. I would like to be able to take away how engineering in the Czech Republic helps to fulfill the needs of their society, in addition to learning about the culture and needs of the people there. Nevertheless, I am a little nervous about the language barrier, since I know absolutely none of the language. Lastly, I have cousins that have studied abroad in Prague, and all of them only have had positive things to say and cannot wait to return there, so I am excited to see the impact this program will have on me!
