This will be my first time leaving the country, and I could not be more excited. I am ready for all the experiences, opportunities, and unexpected moments that come with stepping into a completely new place. What excites me most is seeing how life in Prague compares to the United States, from daily routines to how people interact and live.
During my two weeks abroad, I am especially looking forward to exploring the culture and taking in the city’s famous, detailed architecture. I cannot wait to visit Karlštejn Castle and St. Barbara’s Cathedral. Additionally, I hope to learn not only about engineering in a global context, but also more about myself, especially how I adapt and grow outside my comfort zone.
I am also curious, and slightly nervous, about cultural differences, language barriers, and learning to navigate a new environment. I want to take it all in, stay open-minded, and make the most of every moment. This will be the start of my traveling journey, and I cannot think of a better place to begin than Prague. Bye Oakland, I am off to Prague!
