After getting off in London at about 10:20 AM (London time), we enjoyed Heathrow airport for about 1.5-2.0 before heading to our gate for our next flight. We boarded our flight to Prague and landed at about 4:10 PM (Prague time). It was pretty difficult for me to sleep on either flight, so I ended up only getting about 3 hours of sleep between both flights. After arriving at the airport, we took a small bus to our hotel, where we all checked in and then gathered ourselves to go out for dinner.
Unfortunately, due to our late arrival, we were not able to attend the short walking tour of the Charles Bridge, so I’ll have to make sure to spend some time there when I have a free evening.
For dinner, we went to a lively restaurant and bar that, apart from the foreign language and food, reminded me of the restaurants my family go to at home. There were many options for food, but I wanted to try the Svíčková, which is a Czech dish of marinated beef in a creamy sauce served with bread dumplings. The meal was very, very hearty! After spending my last three meals in airports and airplanes, I was very grateful for a cohesive dish.
Also, I got to try the soft drink Kofola! Originally, it was developed to compete against Western brands like Coke and Pepsi, which were especially expensive during the Cold War. It’s tarter than Coke and definitely offers a unique taste.
Photos below show my dinner and drink! My meal is on the left and has the lighter color of the two sauces.
