Many human values have changed since the time of the Renaissance, greatly because of the exponential development of technology and our societies need to always develop and own the next best thing. The purpose of the Renaissance was to bring back old styles and ideas, while now we are constantly looking towards the future. There is much less appreciation for art and religion, and things are more designed for efficiency and organization. Additionally, the Renaissance focused on the human individual beauty, while modern urbanization focuses more on a collective well-being and solutions to larger issues such as equality and climate change. Especially now in a place like Florence, where there is an increase in tourism and overpopulation, so the city must adapt to this environment instead of a focus on how things look.
