Day 3 in Prague was one of the most interesting so far. We started at the Bubeneč Old Wastewater Treatment Plant, which was honestly fascinating. I did not expect to be so interested in a sewer system, but the level of thought and engineering behind it was impressive. You can tell there was a strong emphasis on long-term functionality and public health. What stood out even more is how well it has been preserved. Parts of it are now used as movie sets and even wedding venues, which shows how much they value their infrastructure and history.
Later, we visited Charles University and learned about the history of engineering in the country. We also learned a little bit of the language, which was fun but not easy.
I am starting to adjust, but there are still moments where I feel a bit out of place. When I went shopping, people would start speaking to me in Czech, and I could not respond, which made it obvious I was an outsider.
We ended the day with a three-course dinner together, which was the perfect way to relax and reflect on everything we experienced.
