Looking back at the Renaissance we see their values of individual status of people, putting in an idea of hierarchy where certain individuals gain more power from status. In modern society everyone is seen as equal individuals with status not connecting with power someone has over a society like in the Renaissance. This idea helps relate to modern urbanization with the idea that Florence was built to impress and show power through how certain landmarks were designed to be built. For modern society, we see buildings made to be more efficient and not put an impression of power as an ideal.
