Being in Florence this week has completely changed the way I view structures. Everything has some sort of history, and it is beautiful to see. I find myself often thinking of the history of the structures, which is something that rarely occurs when I am at home. There are many reasons for this, but one of the main causes is likely the shift in values from the Renaissance to the present. Modern values are more focused on innovation and advancing technology. In the past, art was a main value of society. This slight shift in values is pioneering the change in modern urbanization.
