We started the day early again! After getting breakfast at the hotel, we had a scavenger hunt taking us through some of the parks and churches near our hotel. We stopped at a large mall to eat lunch at any of the many restaurants in the food court.
Then, we caught a tram to the Central Bohemian Innovation Center where we learned about the Czech Republic’s growing start-up culture and how it compares that of the United States. The US has definitely had more time to grow its start-up roots, and the general beliefs of the US makes it easier for start-ups to flourish. The Czech Republic is currently working on increasing its number of start-ups and slowly shifting its culture to be more accepting of the constant failure required for this kind of opportunity.
After the Innovation Center, we went back to Charles University to receive a history lecture on the more modern time period of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic, which will prepare us for our walking tour tomorrow and for our tours in the near future.
Finally, we headed back home and enjoyed dinner as a group of fifteen students at one of the many restaurants in the city!
We had a decent bit of free time, so today’s pictures are from some of the views we saw while walking about the city.
