A culture shock of the day was how pet friendly this country is. Kill shelters are banned and stray animals always find a home. If you find an animal it is recommended that you call the police and once it arrives to the shelter is should be rehomed quite quickly. Walking throughout the city I saw so many behaved furry friends and even though a leash is recommended they followed their owners promptly. It seems like the Czech Republic has changed a bit throughout the years for caring for animals. When we went to the waste water treatment the tour guide mentioned that a lot of unfortunate things washed up into the water including dogs and cats. I think this made the city aware of the heart breaking truth that if our pets end up of the streets their survival rate plummets immediately. Thank you Czech for being so kind to our pawed friends.
