The egg tempera painting gave us a look into just how much work goes into the thousands of paintings all across the city. It really gives us a new sense of appreciation after seeing just how long it takes to make enough paint for the tiny wood canvas. It puts into perspective how long it takes fill an entire wall or ceiling. This experience was also incredibly humbling in the sense that it reminded me how difficult painting. As engineers we tend to praise the scientific solutions more than anything else. This experience reminded me that the achievements of technique in art are just as impressive.
