We started off the day with Jana’s personal tour of Prague. We hit many of the big spots including but not limited to the Charles Bridge, the Lennon Wall, and the astronomical clock. All of these landmarks in addition to Jana’s teachings really put Prague into a new perspective for me. Prague has so much history in each and every part of it. I truly understand now why Prague is commonly known as the heart of Europe. After the walking tour we enjoyed a cooking class. We cooked three typical Czech dishes. These dishes were a mushroom soup, a beef filet with a cream sauce and a side of bread dumplings, and crumpets with a blueberry compote and sour cream topping. These dishes were all delicious and very fun to make but meant more than the taste. The chef shows true passion while instructing us to cook. You could tell this was more than a job and a passionate way to express his roots.
