Today we visited Terezín Memorial, and it completely changed the way I think about events that I had previously only learned about in history classes. Walking through the town and seeing the conditions people lived in made everything feel much more real and personal. Even though people still live in the town today, there was an eerie feeling throughout the entire visit that was hard to ignore.

One of the most moving parts for me was seeing the artwork created by those affected by the events there. The drawings and paintings were haunting because they captured emotion in a way words really cannot. We also saw where Gavrilo Princip died and walked through tunnels that were originally built when the fortress was constructed in the 18th century, which added another layer of history to the experience.

We had an early start to the day, so after returning to Prague, it was nice to spend the evening walking around and exploring the city again. After such a heavy day, it gave everyone time to reflect on everything we had seen and learned.
