We visited a small town that has gone through the unimaginable in the second world war. Terezín concentration camp is where our program set out for today. Our group has always been lively and comedic but today a wave of silence took over us. The silence was not only for respect but for the tragedy that took place right where we were standing. The people of the czech republic have always been on the defensive side of history. The people were natural born fighters and their resilience spoke volumes as we toured their living conditions. You could picture the 600 prisoners in the room with you as you walked past the broken wooden beds. The statues of memorial almost could speak out loud because the pain was so well depicted. We took a long break after to uplift our heavy hearts once again.
