After visiting Terezin, I realized that Czech resistance was not simply about violent uprisings. In fact, it was more about resistance by displaying dignity and culture. I noticed this while walking through the last museum today with the artwork. No matter what the artwork was about, whether it be portraits or what the people were seeing, the ability to self express was a method of resistance during a time of enduring their dehumanizing living conditions. In addition, one interesting point with Terezin was the controversy of how the Czechs treated German families once the camp was liberated by the Soviet army. Today was definitely a day of dense and emotionally heavy information, so I am hoping tomorrow is a bit lighter!
