Started off the day with driving in the tram and bus to get to Eaton. The ground floor was interesting. There was a display of a wireless switching systems where you can set certain lights on, motion sensors and heating that can only be displayed in small flats and are in the process of being implemented throughout Europe. The whole building including the lab areas seemed very modernized. We went upstairs into a conference room that gave some background on Aerospace and Electrical engineering in Eaton. We were then shown an example of some kind of circuit breaker. Personally, I haven’t had much interest in this particular technology but it was fascinating to learn about how this device can make an impact in several industries.
Next, we went to the Kunsthalle Praha museum where I got to learn about the behind the scenes of an art gallery. The elevator that can fit the size of the car definitely caught my eye. The way that paintings are protected through the gas systems and cooling was also very interesting to learn about especially because I am used to seeing art all over museums and other places but I never knew how it comes to be preserved and also the architectural aspects of it.
In the museum, there was also a cafe where we got to meet the Alumni with MBA. I got to meet and introduce myself to some executives within the Cez Group which was actually helpful in preparation for the company visit that we will be having in a couple days one of which talked about the wastewater projects that he is involved in which is similar to what I am interested in career-wise. The rest of the venue was pretty laid-back. However, it was nice to hear a lot of conversations and people catching up within the room.
